Urban Design Specialist

Sareh joins PGAV with proficiency in urban planning, GIS, and innovative design solutions. She is a graduate of the Master of Urban Design program at University of Tehran with a bachelor’s in urban planning engineering from Art University of Isfahan. Inspired by the positive impact the built environment can have on its inhabitants, Sareh worked more in detail on the morphology of cities and how the urban form can affect and enhance physical health among communities for her thesis. Prior to working at PGAV, Sareh worked in St. Charles County helping with spatial data visualization and analysis. She is well experienced in mapping and utilizing ArcMap Technologies coupled with Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) software to analyze field-collected data to audit, process, and create various maps and deliverables.

I enjoyed reading Kevin lynch, Matthew Carmona and Ian Bentley’s books early in school and believe Edmund Bacon’s Design of Cities and Jan Gehl’s books helped me to understand the importance of public spaces and how their design impacts the quality of urban life. I have an enthusiasm for the latest technology and computer rendering and I think this will bring an added perspective to this practice that helps clients to understand the scope and vision of their projects.

Favorite city to visit

Isfahan, Iran - Isfahan is more than a hometown to me. It is the land of Persian architecture masterpieces. Exploring the city one can sense the authenticity and the spirit of place. It is known to be “Nesfe-e Jahan” which means “Isfahan is half of the world” as it is surrounded by historic palaces, gardens, bridges, mosques and public squares. I never get tired of walking down to the Zayanderud river, Chaharbagh street, and visiting Naqsh-e Jahan Square.
