Streetscape master plan

Client: Village of Swansea, IL Category: Public Engagement, Urban Design, Community Planning

PGAV led the Swansea Streetscape Master Plan project for the Village of Swansea, Illinois. The project brought together several consultants, municipal leaders, Bi-State Development (the agency that manages public transit in the St. Louis region), the Illinois Department of Transportation, and area residents to coalesce around a vision for reimagined public space in Old Town Swansea.

The area around the Swansea MetroLink station was underutilized and had seen little development. Through thoughtful, long-term land use planning, community engagement, and extensive design work, PGAV assisted the Village in reimagining the area as a dense, mixed-use, and walkable transit-oriented development with connections to the existing Metro Link, the MetroBikeLink trail, and nearby residential.
